Diamond League announces 2027 athletics season calendar

The organizers of the Diamond League have released the calendar for the 18th edition of the prestigious athletics series, scheduled for 2027. The season is set to begin on May 7 in Doha, Qatar, and will feature 14 meetings across four continents before concluding with a two-day final in Zurich, Switzerland, on August 25 and 26.

The 2027 schedule includes stops in Shanghai and Xiamen, China; Rome, Italy; Rabat, Morocco; Oslo, Norway; Stockholm, Sweden; Paris, France; Eugene, USA; Monaco; Lausanne, Switzerland; London, UK; Chorzów, Poland; and Brussels, Belgium. The series serves as a critical preparation period for the World Athletics Championships, which will take place in Beijing in September 2027.

Slovak hurdler Emma Zapletalová, who recently set a national record in Doha and secured second place in the overall final, is expected to be among the elite athletes competing for the diamond trophies across the 32 disciplines featured in the series.
