Diamond League athletics: Sedjati takes second in Brussels 800m

At the Diamond League meeting in Brussels, Algerian middle-distance runner Djamel Sedjati secured second place in a highly competitive 800-meter race. He finished with a time of 1:42.71, trailing Kenyan Emmanuel Wanyonyi, who won the event in 1:41.80. This marks Sedjati’s third consecutive second-place finish in the Diamond League since his return to competition.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Moroccan athletes Soufiane El Bakkali and Salaheddine Ben Yazid are set to compete in the Diamond League final at the King Baudouin Stadium. El Bakkali, the reigning Olympic and World champion, enters the race as a top contender holding the season's best time. Ben Yazid, a recent Mediterranean Games gold medalist, also joins the final as he seeks to climb the Diamond League standings.
