Diana Morant seeks progressive coalition in Valencia and rejects Ceuta rallies

Diana Morant, Secretary General of the PSPV-PSOE and Minister of Science, Innovation, and Universities, has characterized the upcoming political term in the Valencian Community as decisive. She called for alignment between the PSPV and Compromís to pursue a ‘Botànic 3’ coalition in the next regional elections, aiming to present a unified progressive alternative to the current government.

Morant also announced that the Spanish Government and the PSOE are evaluating a constitutional appeal against a section of the 2026 Generalitat budget laws regarding educational inspection. She described the reform as a ‘censoring police’ project that could limit academic freedom and impact teaching staff.

Regarding the situation in Ceuta following a mass arrival of migrants in July, Morant stated that the PSPV will not participate in rallies organized by the PP and Vox. She argued these demonstrations are not intended to show solidarity with Ceuta and warned they might involve ‘unconstitutional and Francoist flags.’ She emphasized that the migration crisis requires a legal and humanitarian response rather than political demonstrations.
