Diana Șoșoacă of SOS România injured in Bucharest traffic crash

On 30 July 2026, Diana Șoșoacă, head of the Romanian NGO SOS România, was involved in a traffic collision on Boulevard Iuliu Maniu in Bucharest’s Sector 6. She was a passenger with her daughter when a vehicle behind failed to keep the required distance and struck the car from the rear.

Both drivers were tested with an alcohol breathalyser and recorded zero alcohol. Șoșoacă sustained injuries that required medical evaluation; she was taken by ambulance to the University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest for examinations and specialist care. Police investigations continue to determine the precise cause of the crash.
