Diana Sofía Sánchez Aguilar receives State Youth Award

Diana Sofía Sánchez Aguilar, a student at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx), has been awarded the State Youth Award in the Young Social Impact category. The recognition follows her initiative to provide free taekwondo classes to children and youth in vulnerable situations.

Originally from Almoloya de Juárez, Sánchez Aguilar began practicing taekwondo at age five. She developed her social project to use the martial art as a tool for personal development, teaching values such as discipline, respect, and responsibility to those with limited economic resources.

In addition to her martial arts work, she is a competitive chess player and has been a member of the state chess selection since 2022.
