Diana Theatre to host premiere of ‘The Return of Houdini’

The contemporary Greek play ‘The Return of Houdini’, written by Gerasimos Evangelatos and directed by Giorgos Souleiman, is set to premiere at the Diana Theatre on November 2.

The production centers on a family dinner involving four individuals that evolves from a seemingly routine Friday evening into a site of intense conflict. The plot follows Pavlos, the eldest son of Miltos, who returns to his parental home in Athens after many years of absence. His reunion triggers the emergence of long-buried family secrets, challenging the relationships between the characters, including his half-brother Nikos and his aunt Ioanna.

Described as a modern variation of a parable, the play explores themes of identity, loss, and the search for self, aiming to reflect contemporary societal issues through the lens of a fractured family dynamic.
