Diana Urdangaray resigns as deputy mayor in O Barco

Diana Urdangaray Díaz, the second deputy mayor and head of the Environment and Gardens area in O Barco, has resigned from her position as city councilor. The decision comes nine months before the next municipal elections.

Urdangaray, a forest engineer who entered municipal politics in 2015, will be replaced by Javier Rodríguez Tato. Her departure marks the end of a long tenure in the local administration, during which she focused on recycling, sustainable mobility, and green space management. Her position was relatively recent, having been appointed by Aurentino Alonso following the resignation of Alfredo García.
