Diane Button discusses managing death anxiety on The Drew Barrymore Show
On The Drew Barrymore Show, death doula Diane Button discussed methods for managing the fear of mortality. Drew Barrymore shared her personal terror of death, describing it as an “endless, infinite black room.”
Button suggested that rather than attempting to eliminate fear entirely, individuals should aim to “embrace the elephant” by befriending the concept and discussing worries to make them more manageable. The goal is to acknowledge death without allowing it to dominate one's daily existence, thereby enabling people to live more fully in the present.
