Diane von Furstenberg honored by The Museum at FIT
The Couture Council of The Museum at FIT honored designer Diane von Furstenberg with the 2026 Couture Council Award during an annual luncheon held at Gotham Hall. The event, which serves to raise funds for New York’s only museum dedicated exclusively to the art of fashion, recognized von Furstenberg for her transformational influence on women’s fashion.
During the ceremony, Vanessa Friedman, fashion director and chief fashion critic for The New York Times, presented the award, describing the honoree as a ‘force of nature.’ Von Furstenberg delivered a speech regarding her life trajectory and current passions.
Other highlights of the event included the presentation of the Museum at FIT Student Award to Chloe LaBe. The luncheon was attended by various industry figures, including FIT President Jason Schupbach, Museum Director Dr. Valerie Steele, and DVF artistic director Henry Zankov.
