DiaTV cancels interview program after backlash over Kim Kataguiri appearance

DiaTV announced the cancellation of its "Simplificando Entrevista" series after a wave of criticism sparked by an interview with right‑wing federal deputy Kim Kataguiri. The interview, aired on the channel and simultaneously on partner YouTubers' channels, drew strong objections from the platform’s LGBTQI+ community and presenters such as Wanessa Wolf, who said the channel should not give space to a politician whose views clash with its inclusive ethos. In an Instagram Stories note, DiaTV wrote, "We listened to your reaction and decided to take the program off the air," adding that the interview had hurt the community that built the platform. Presenter Gui Sampaio, who conducted the interview, acknowledged the mistake but said the channel still wants to foster dialogue with diverse voices. Kataguiri responded in a statement calling the critics a "censorship patrol" and posted the full interview on his X profile, asserting that the producers had done nothing wrong.
