Curaçao extends Dick Advocaat's contract until 2027
Dick Advocaat, the 78-year-old Dutch manager, has signed a contract extension to remain the head coach of the Curaçao national football team until July 31, 2027. The Curaçao Football Federation (FFK) announced the decision, stating it is a move intended to ensure continuity, stability, and peace within the national team.
Advocaat recently led Curaçao through its historic first appearance at a FIFA World Cup, where the team became the smallest nation ever to participate. During the tournament, the team secured its first-ever World Cup point in a 0-0 draw against Ecuador, following losses to Germany and Ivory Coast.
The extension allows Advocaat to continue building on the progress made with the current squad and technical staff. His upcoming schedule includes preparing the team for the CONCACAF Nations League, where Curaçao is set to face Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Trinidad and Tobago.
