DICK'S Sporting Goods and Foot Locker to hire 11,000 seasonal workers

DICK'S Sporting Goods and Foot Locker have announced plans to hire more than 11,000 seasonal employees across North America to support the 2026 holiday shopping season.

DICK'S Sporting Goods expects to hire approximately 8,400 workers across its various banners, including Public Lands, Going Going Gone!, DICK'S House of Sport, and DICK'S Sporting Goods. The company will host its ninth annual “National Signing Day” on Wednesday, Oct. 21, to facilitate interviews and recruitment.

Foot Locker aims to add roughly 2,900 seasonal staff members to its North American locations, which include Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, WSS, and Champs Sports. Both companies noted that their U.S. stores and distribution centers will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, but will reopen for Black Friday.

While the combined hiring target remains significant, the planned number of seasonal roles for both companies is lower than the previous year's recruitment figures.
