Dicle Elektrik finishes 1.5 bn TL underground power upgrade in Mardin Artuklu
Dicle Elektrik is finalising a 1.5 billion Turkish‑lira investment to modernise the electricity infrastructure in the 13 Mart neighbourhood of Artuklu district, Mardin. The project installs a new underground power network and removes the old overhead lines, with planned, safety‑driven power outages during the work. Halil Homan, Dicle Elektrik’s Mardin provincial director, said the interruptions are solely for safety and that crews are working intensively to complete the work as quickly as possible. Once operational, the underground system will be more resistant to weather and external impacts, delivering a more reliable and continuous power supply to residents. The upgrade is part of Dicle Elektrik’s broader modernisation programme across the South‑East Anatolia region, which also includes projects in Diyarbakır, Siirt, Batman, Şırnak and Şanlıurfa.
