Dicle officials meet to discuss regional tourism development
Stakeholders and local officials met in Dicle to discuss strategies for promoting the district's tourism potential. The meeting, organized by the Dicle Rural Development Local Action Group Association with co-financing from the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, focused on leveraging the region's natural and historical assets.
Participants, including Dicle District Governor Mustafa Atış, discussed the importance of preserving historical sites and the natural landscape, noting that the district occupies a peninsula surrounded by dam waters on three sides. Key priorities identified include digital promotion through social media, improving visitor experiences, and addressing infrastructure needs.
The group aims to increase both domestic and international tourist numbers by developing seasonal camping and recreation programs for summer and winter. Efforts will focus on protecting the area's cultural heritage to ensure it is passed down to future generations while fostering regional development.
