Diddl brand comeback triggers high resale prices on eBay

A resurgence of the Diddl brand has led to significant price inflation on secondary marketplaces like eBay. While the products, including plush toys and stationery, are available at standard retail prices in supermarkets and drugstores, resellers are listing items for much higher amounts.

Reports indicate that some sellers are asking as much as 820 euros for nine notebooks, and approximately 154 euros for a single scented A6 notepad, despite the retail price being around 5.99 euros. Other listings include cosmetic sets and various stationery formats at heavily marked-up prices.

In response to the trend, a spokesperson for the drugstore chain dm, Alexander Strehlau, stated that resale via third-party platforms is outside the company's sphere of influence. He expressed regret over the high prices and emphasized that the company's goal is to keep products available to customers at fair prices through their own stores.
