Didier Reynders faces allegations regarding Libya and Fortis
Former Belgian official Didier Reynders is facing scrutiny regarding his past involvement in various dossiers, including matters related to Libya, Congo, and the 2008 Fortis capital increase.
In 2019, former State Security agent Nicolas Ullens de Schooten accused Reynders and his associate Jean-Claude Fontinoy of corruption and money laundering. Fontinoy, referred to by investigators as ‘Mazarin’, is alleged to have amassed significant wealth. The investigations also touch upon tensions between Reynders and Prince Laurent concerning Libyan affairs.
