Didim’s 22nd Writers Festival launches with prominent authors

The 22nd Writers Festival, organized with the support of Didim Municipality, opened with strong public interest and will run until 15 August in the coastal district of Altınkum. The opening day featured Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer, Ilyas Salman, Özgür Ovacık and Filiz Hekimoğlu in talks and book‑signing sessions.

Future program days will host well‑known figures such as İlker Başbuğ, Uğur Dündar, Emre Kongar, Prof. Dr. Canan Karatay, Sinan Akyüz and Tamer Levent. Mayor Hatice Gençay highlighted the festival’s role in bringing literature, thought and art to the public, stressing the municipality’s commitment to making culture accessible and positioning Didim as a regional cultural hub.
