Die Arche spokesperson warns of integration crisis in Berlin

Wolfgang Büscher, spokesperson for the evangelical aid organization Die Arche, has issued a warning regarding a growing integration crisis in Berlin. He stated that the situation is approaching a catastrophe that may soon become unmanageable.

Büscher reported an increase in violence among increasingly younger children, noting instances where eleven-year-olds were found with knives. He also highlighted concerns regarding religious radicalization within families, observing that some youths are exposed to antisemitic and Islamist ideologies and may quietly support ISIS propaganda.

Die Arche, which works to combat child poverty, supports 11,500 young people across 40 facilities in Germany, with 80 percent of those served having a migration background. In Berlin alone, the organization cares for approximately 1,000 children and adolescents.

These observations are partially supported by a June study from the Berlin Senate. The study, which surveyed 14,000 students, found that 40 percent of Muslim ninth-graders believed religious rules should take precedence over school regulations.
