Diego Aponte identified as potential buyer for SSC Napoli

Diego Aponte, the president of Terminal Investment Limited (TiL) and co-owner of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), has been named as a potential buyer for the Italian football club SSC Napoli. The speculation follows comments from Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who stated that if he were to sell the club, he would prefer an Italian buyer over an American one to ensure the new owners understand the local context and daily realities.

Aponte, 49, is the son of shipping magnate Gianluigi Aponte. He recently assumed the presidency of MSC alongside his sister, Alexa, following a change in ownership structure in April. Aponte has a background in maritime studies and has held various roles within MSC since 1997, ranging from junior engineer to executive positions in Geneva.
