Mexican actor Diego Calva was honored with the José Cuervo 1800 Award during the 2026 Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). The ceremony, held at the Centro Cultural Clavijero, recognized Calva’s career in both Mexican and international film and television productions.

During his acceptance speech, Calva reflected on his decade-long connection to the festival, noting that his journey has come full circle from a young attendee to an award recipient. He also expressed his intention to debut as a film director in the future.
