Diego Dabove resigns as Tigre head coach
Diego Dabove has resigned as the head coach of Tigre, ending a tenure that lasted approximately one year and eight months. The decision follows a period of poor performance, including three consecutive defeats in the Torneo Clausura 2026 and a recent 3-2 loss against Vélez.
Dabove, who joined the club in January 2025, leaves with a record of approximately 77 matches managed, including 28 wins, 24 draws, and 25 losses. While his early tenure saw success, including a fifth-place finish in the 2025 Apertura and qualification for the Copa Sudamericana, recent results have been disappointing. The team has secured only one victory in its last eight matches and suffered early exits in both the Copa Argentina and the Copa Sudamericana.
Tigre currently sits in tenth place in Group B of the Torneo Clausura, trailing the playoff qualification zone. The club's management and Dabove reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract, and the team is now searching for a replacement.
