Diego López-Luján presents new book on illness and faith
The Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) has presented the book ‘Una mirada creyente: Reflexiones ante la enfermedad’ by Father Doctor Diego López-Luján. The work examines human vulnerability, fragility, and suffering through theological, anthropological, and bioethical lenses.
The book originated from a chapter of López-Luján’s doctoral thesis, ‘Enfermedad y muerte en tiempos de pandemia: bioética teológica y COVID-19’. The author noted that his interest in these themes was shaped by personal experiences, including the loss of a young relative to leukemia and his own subsequent experiences with illness, which allowed him to connect academic theory with lived reality.
In addition to being a standalone work, the publication marks the launch of a new theology collection from the university’s editorial department.
