Diego Luna to Receive Sarajevo Film Festival's Heart of Honor Award in August 2026

Mexican actor, director and producer Diego Luna will be honored with the Heart of Honor at the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival, which runs from 14–21 August 2026 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The award ceremony will present Luna with the statue, screen a special selection of his work and include a masterclass for students and emerging creators.

At the same event Luna will present his fifth feature film, "Ceniza en la boca," which premiered at Cannes in May 2026 and tells the story of two Mexican brothers migrating to Madrid. Festival director Miro Purivatra praised Luna’s three‑decade career and his influence on international cinema, while co‑director Jovan Marjanović highlighted the filmmaker’s contributions to Latin American cultural narratives.
