Diego Luna's 'Ceniza en la boca' chosen for San Sebastián festival

Diego Luna's fourth feature film, "Ceniza en la boca," adapts Brenda Navarro's novel about a young Mexican woman and her brother seeking a better life in Spain. The story follows Lucila's encounter with her mother in Madrid and explores migration, identity and family tensions.

The film, starring Anna Díaz and Adriana Paz, will compete in the Horizons Latinos section of the San Sebastián International Film Festival in September. It previously premiered in the Special Screenings of Cannes' Official Selection and is a co‑production between Mexican and Spanish companies, including La Corriente del Golfo and Inicia Films. The Spanish theatrical release is scheduled for 9 October.
