Diego Maciel appointed to Santa Fe Supreme Court
The government of Santa Fe has officially appointed attorney Diego Maciel as a new minister of the provincial Supreme Court of Justice. The appointment, formalized via decree N° 1632 and signed by Governor Maximiliano Pullaro, is set to take effect on September 1, 2026, following the resignation of Eduardo Spuler.
Maciel, a 50-year-old lawyer from Esperanza and graduate of the National University of the Littoral, previously served as the administrative secretary of the provincial Senate and the Constitutional Reform Convention. His candidacy had received legislative approval from the Assembly on February 26, alongside other candidates Aldo Mario Alurralde and Jorgelina Mabel Genghini, though their appointments were pending the formalization of vacancies.
The transition is part of a gradual renewal of the high court as several judges reach the mandatory age limit. Maciel is expected to be sworn in during the first week of September once the administrative processes are completed.
