Diego Maradona death trial resumes after medical record error

The trial regarding the death of football legend Diego Maradona has resumed in San Isidro following a controversy involving medical records. It was revealed that a medical board had mistakenly analyzed laboratory tests belonging to Maradona’s father, also named Diego, instead of the footballer himself.

During recent hearings, medical experts including nephrologist Hernán Trimarchi and cardiologist Gustavo Di Niro testified that the error did not change their clinical conclusions. Trimarchi maintained his diagnosis of chronic kidney disease, stating that the findings were supported by other medical history and autopsy results.

The trial seeks to determine the responsibility of several health professionals, including Leopoldo Luque and Agustina Cosachov, who face charges of homicide with eventual intent. The court has also admitted new medical documentation related to a previous hospitalization as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
