Diego Pavia eyes UFL comeback after being waived by Baltimore Ravens
Former Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia is in contract negotiations with the United Football League (UFL) following his release from the Baltimore Ravens. Pavia, a 2025 Heisman Trophy finalist, went undrafted in the 2026 NFL draft before signing a three-year deal with the Ravens. He was waived in July, one day before rookies were scheduled to report to training camp.
Pavia attributed his inability to stick with an NFL team to “politics,” a claim that drew significant criticism from fans on social media. While expressing gratitude to the Ravens for the opportunity, Pavia stated in an interview that his football journey is not over and he intends to pursue opportunities in the UFL, potentially bringing former teammates with him.
During his tenure at Vanderbilt, Pavia led the Commodores to a historic 10-3 season. His collegiate statistics include 5,832 passing yards, 49 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions over two seasons, alongside 1,663 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns.
