Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum to Host International Digital Art Program

The Biblioteca of the Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli in Coyoacán, Mexico City, will host "Encuentros Digitales," an international digital‑art program organized by 8NAP Art in partnership with Superchief and Mythaic. The initiative brings together works by 22 digital artists from more than ten countries, using generative art, artificial intelligence, glitch, cinema, post‑photography, stereoscopic 3D and interactive experiences to explore the relationship between technology, myth and memory. The program is scheduled for the first week of August 2026 and will be free to the public during daytime hours.

The Anahuacalli museum, conceived by painter Diego Rivera in the 1930s as a temple for his pre‑Hispanic collection, is a pyramid‑shaped building constructed of volcanic stone in the Pedregal area. Designed by architect Juan O’Gorman, it opened in 1964 and houses around 2,000 permanent pieces from Olmec, Toltec, Nahua, Zapotec and other cultures. The museum’s architecture and Rivera’s vision provide the historic backdrop for the contemporary digital works presented in the upcoming program.
