Diego Rivera exhibition attracts 17,000 visitors at Rome's Villa Caffarelli

The exhibition ‘Diego Rivera e la costruzione dell’arte moderna in Messico nel XX secolo’ at the Musei CapitoliniVilla Caffarelli in Rome has attracted over 17,000 visitors within its first two months. The display features more than 140 works, including 30 pieces by the renowned Mexican muralist Diego Rivera.

Curated by Miguel Fernández Félix and Alberto González Torres, the exhibition explores the evolution of Mexican modern art. It includes masterpieces from other significant artists such as Frida Kahlo, José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and María Izquierdo. The collection traces the artistic and cultural processes rooted in the emergence of independent Mexico.

The exhibition is scheduled to run until December 13, 2026. To accommodate high attendance, guided tours in Italian will be available on weekends from September 12 through November 1, 2026.
