Mexican authorities have formally linked Diego Sebastián “N” and Gerardo “N” to criminal proceedings following the brutal multihomicide of Jonathan Meléndez, a keyboardist for the band Camilo Séptimo, and his family in Atizapán de Zaragoza. The victims include Meléndez, his wife Ana Paula Barragán—who was four months pregnant—their three-year-old daughter Sofía, and a domestic worker, Aleyda Romero. The family's pet was also killed during the attack.

Investigators believe the motive was the theft of a “cold wallet” containing significant amounts of Bitcoin, estimated at approximately $1.78 million USD. Evidence presented by the Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México includes security footage showing the suspects entering the residence and fleeing in a vehicle later found abandoned in Tecámac. One of the suspects, Diego Sebastián “N,” reportedly had a prior business relationship with Meléndez, which may have facilitated his entry into the home.

Both suspects are currently held in pretrial detention at the Barrientos prison. The judge has established a four-month period for the completion of the supplementary investigation. Legal representatives for the victims are also seeking to investigate the financial activities and communications of Diego Sebastián’s wife, Paola Mandri, following allegations of potential cryptocurrency transfers related to the crime.
