Diego Ulissi extends contract with Astana Qazaqstan Team

Diego Ulissi has extended his contract with the Astana Qazaqstan Team for another year. A veteran of the World Tour since 2010, the Italian rider will enter his 18th season at the highest level of professional cycling.

Team manager Alexandr Vinokourov praised Ulissi’s influence both on and off the bike, describing him as a “true leader” whose experience and race vision help guide younger teammates. While many professional teams are currently prioritizing youth and new talent, the team values Ulissi’s ability to make quick decisions and his consistent presence in the peloton.

Ulissi has maintained a highly successful career, having secured victories in every season since his professional debut with Lampre. Despite not securing a professional win yet in 2026, he recently achieved a third-place finish in a stage of the Giro d’Italia.
