Dien Bien promotes community-based tourism through cultural heritage

Dien Bien province is focusing on developing community-based, cultural, and ecological tourism by leveraging its diverse ethnic identity and rich historical heritage. The province aims to create unique travel experiences that simultaneously preserve local traditions and improve livelihoods for residents.

Recently, Pu Nhi commune launched the Tu Lu - Tia Lo community tourism model. Located at an altitude of over 1,200 meters, the area features a cool climate and misty landscapes. The village is home to 161 Hmong households and maintains distinct cultural traditions, including traditional costumes, folk songs, and local customs.

To support this initiative, the Dien Bien Dong district has invested funds from the National Target Program for New Rural Development to build welcoming infrastructure. Further investments are planned for 2025, including the construction of exhibition houses, product introduction rooms, and performance stages to enhance the visitor experience.
