Dien Khanh Citadel Prison remains recovery finds 29 martyrs

Authorities in Khanh Hoa province have recovered 29 sets of martyr remains from the area of the Dien Khanh Citadel Prison. The site was historically used to detain and bury revolutionary officers and soldiers prior to 1975.

Following the discovery, a ceremony was held at the Cau Thanh Memorial to honor the fallen. Thirteen of the recovered remains were transported to the Hon Dung Martyrs Cemetery for preservation and DNA testing to facilitate identity identification.

The search is part of a larger provincial campaign to accelerate the recovery and identification of martyr remains. Officials are currently working to expand the search area and are calling on veterans, historical witnesses, and local residents to provide any information regarding the names, birth years, or combat units of those lost.
