Diepholz opens new multisport court for youth
In Diepholz, a new multisport court in Müntepark was officially opened on August 25, 2026. The project, which cost approximately 850,000 euros, aims to provide low-threshold opportunities for active leisure. The facility is already seeing use, with 25 children utilizing the space prior to the formal inauguration, which was attended by basketball world champion Dirk Mädrich. A complementary pumptrack facility is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Local partnerships, such as the ‘Court together’ project by Rasta Vechta, will provide weekly training sessions.
In Bensheim, the Karl-Kübel-Schule hosted a large-scale sports and play day on August 25, 2026. Attended by Sports Minister Diana Stolz, the event involved over 1,800 students and teachers across more than 50 stations. This initiative is part of the ‘Sportsfun Teamdays’ program, which has supported educational institutions for over 20 years, reaching more than 200 facilities to date.
