Diesel prices in Denmark approach 20 kroner per liter
Diesel prices in Denmark are approaching 20 kroner per liter, reaching a recent high of 19.69 kroner. Ole Sloth Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank, has warned that continued supply disruptions could lead to fuel rationing if the situation does not improve.
The pressure on the diesel market is attributed to the specific oil quality required for production, which is primarily sourced from Russia and the Middle East. Ongoing conflicts, including Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries and instability in the Middle East, have tightened supply.
To assist consumers facing these rising costs, Google Maps provides real-time fuel prices at Danish stations, a feature available since January 2026 following requirements for companies to publish pump prices online. The app also offers a fuel-efficient routing option that calculates the most economical path based on vehicle type and traffic conditions.
