Diesel shortages in Tarija threaten to raise beef prices

Livestock producers in Tarija, Bolivia, have warned of a potential increase in beef prices due to a shortage of diesel. The fuel scarcity is hindering the transportation of cattle to fattening centers, fairs, slaughterhouses, and markets.

Because diesel is essential for moving animals between production areas and commercial hubs, the logistical disruptions are expected to increase costs across the entire supply chain, including feeding and slaughtering.
