Diesel spill occurs at company premises in St. Gallen

Approximately 30 liters of diesel spilled on the forecourt of a company on Flawilerstrasse in the Canton of St. Gallen on Friday afternoon, October 23, 2026. The spill was caused by a diesel canister tipping over around 3:00 PM.

A portion of the fuel entered a rainwater shaft. However, following a rapid response by the fire department and other specialists, the fuel was prevented from entering the sewage system. Cleanup efforts included cleaning the paved area and flushing the affected pipes.

Authorities are currently assessing the exact extent of the damage.
