Dietary recommendations for improved sleep and hunger management

Medical professionals have shared dietary recommendations to improve sleep quality and manage hunger through specific snack choices.

Dr. Alen Mendel suggests that certain foods can facilitate easier sleep and deeper rest. Recommended options include almonds, which provide magnesium to help muscles relax, and Greek yogurt, which contains protein to help stabilize blood sugar levels. Hard-boiled eggs are also highlighted as an effective evening snack because they contain tryptophan, an amino acid involved in the production of serotonin and melatonin.

To optimize sleep, experts advise avoiding heavy, fatty, or spicy meals 1–2 hours before bedtime. It is also recommended to limit caffeine intake in the afternoon and evening and to avoid consuming excessive fluids immediately before sleep to prevent nighttime disruptions.
