Dieter Hallervorden opens new season at Schlosspark Theater

Dieter Hallervorden, aged 90, is launching the 18th season of his Schlosspark Theater in Berlin with a political production titled ‘Putsch – Anleitung zur Zerstörung einer Demokratie’. The play is a provocative comedy exploring themes of freedom of expression, censorship, and populism, following a cabaret artist who becomes a chancellor candidate for a populist party after her TV show is canceled.

Nathalie Hallervorden, the theater's director and Dieter's daughter, noted that any similarities to real-life individuals are unintentional. The theater, which Hallervorden took over in 2008 and renovated with significant personal investment, marks its 18th year of operation. The upcoming season will also feature works such as Gur Koren’s ‘Was ist los mit der Welt?!’ and performances involving Hans-Joachim Heist and Kai Wiesinger.
