DietPi 10.7 releases new network configuration tool

The DietPi Project has released version 10.7 of DietPi, a lightweight, Debian-based Linux distribution optimized for single-board computers, virtual machines, and containers.

A primary feature of this update is the introduction of the ‘dietpi-network’ tool, which redesigns network configuration to allow independent management of multiple Ethernet and Wi-Fi interfaces. This system supports systemd’s predictable interface naming and virtual interfaces used in containers, moving away from traditional naming conventions like eth0 or wlan0.

Additional updates include support for ARMv8 virtual machines and new container images designed for environments like LXC, which include a network stack and SSH server out of the box. The release also adds support for the LubanCat 4 hardware and includes various bug fixes for devices such as the Orange Pi 5 and Raspberry Pi.
