DIF Estatal dental program provides free prosthetics to seniors

The “Sonrisas Gigantes” program, operated by the DIF Estatal, provides free dental prosthetics to elderly citizens. The initiative targets individuals over the age of 60 who have three or fewer teeth remaining.

One beneficiary, 73-year-old Fidel López Galván, received a prosthetic through the program after undergoing specialist evaluations. The process involved coordination with the civil association Sonrisa Amiga to create the custom dental molds. The program aims to improve the quality of life, nutrition, and self-esteem of senior citizens by restoring their ability to chew and speak with confidence.
