DIF organizations distribute mobility aids across Mexico

Social welfare organizations in Mexico have conducted distribution drives to provide mobility and functional aids to elderly citizens and people with disabilities.

In Coahuila, the DIF Coahuila, led by honorary president Liliana Salinas Valdés, delivered 175 functional supports in the La Laguna region. These items, which include wheelchairs, bath chairs, and canes, bring the total number of devices distributed in the region to 338. The initiative involves coordination with municipal DIF offices, civil organizations like the Rotary Club of La Laguna, and the private sector. Additionally, the state DIF provides economic support for medical supplies and is working on infrastructure improvements for rehabilitation and autism centers.

In Ixhuatlán del Café, the municipal DIF delivered 15 functional supports—including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and eyeglasses—and 8 food packages to 23 beneficiaries. Mayor Viridiana Bretón Feito participated in the event, which was also attended by representatives from the Federation of Veracruzan Migrants in North America (FEVAN).
