DIF Tamaulipas launches health corridor for over 600 families in Altamira
The Sistema DIF Tamaulipas, led by Dr. María de Villarreal, organized a "Corredor de la Salud" at the Parque Recreativo Satélite in Altamira, Tamaulipas. More than 600 residents from 66 colonias received free medical consultations, enrollment in IMSS‑Bienestar, civil‑registry services, family‑planning assistance, vaccinations (including rabies), maternal‑health care, and eye‑care services. The event also distributed glasses, hearing aids, canes, crutches and wheelchairs, and set up community‑service modules to channel citizen requests. The initiative was coordinated with the Secretaría de Salud, IMSS‑Bienestar, the state government and municipal authorities, aiming to bring comprehensive preventive health services to priority‑care communities.
The health corridor is part of the broader "Lazos del Bienestar" strategy, which operates in ten municipalities of Tamaulipas through twelve priority‑care zones, consolidating medical, preventive, and social support in a single location to improve residents' quality of life.
