Tamaulipas ranks first in Mexico for surgical procedures with federal support

Tamaulipas has secured first place in Mexico for three consecutive years in surgical procedures supported by the Administración del Patrimonio de la Beneficencia Pública. Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya highlighted this achievement during a recent event in Tampico, where more than 2,600 health and mobility supports were distributed to residents across the state's 43 municipalities.

The assistance included 41 sound processors for cochlear implants, hearing aids, graduated lenses, and various mobility devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, and prostheses. These efforts are coordinated between the state government, the Secretaría de Salud, and the Sistema DIF Tamaulipas.

Additionally, the DIF Tamaulipas is implementing the ‘Lazos de Esperanza’ program, which provides direct home delivery of hygiene supplies, including diapers and cleaning materials, to 2,510 individuals with severe motor or neuromotor disabilities to support their well-being and ease the economic burden on their families.
