DIF Tamaulipas to host conferences for National Day of Older Persons

The Sistema DIF Tamaulipas, led by Dr. María de Villarreal, is organizing a series of conferences in Ciudad Victoria to commemorate the National Day of Older Persons. The event is scheduled for August 20 at the Poliforum ‘Dr. Rodolfo Torre Cantú’.

Through the Procuraduría de la Defensa de las Personas Adultas Mayores, the initiative aims to provide tools for decision-making, legal security, and the protection of rights to promote healthy and dignified aging. Key presentations include ‘Legal security and decisions that impact older adult life’ by Luis Óscar Gómez Quintero and ‘Dignity without age: self-esteem and rights of older persons’ by Alma Rosa Saldaña Bernal from the National Human Rights Commission.

The program also features cognitive stimulation activities, such as brain gymnastics, and musical performances by the Trova of the Casa Club de las Personas Adultas Mayores to encourage social interaction and well-being.
