DIF Toluca calls for enhanced coordination to protect vulnerable families

Rocío Pegueros Velázquez, president of the Toluca Municipal DIF, has called for strengthened coordination between municipal and state governments to protect the rights of vulnerable populations. Speaking at the Meeting of Municipal DIF Systems of the Central-North Region, Pegueros Velázquez emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to improve comprehensive care for children and adolescents, particularly those living on the streets or engaged in unregulated economic activities.

Accompanied by Karina Labastida Sotelo, general director of the State of Mexico DIF (DIFEM), Pegueros Velázquez highlighted that institutional dialogue and cooperation are essential to improving response capacities for social issues. The meeting focused on establishing mechanisms to identify needs, channel cases, and provide timely follow-up for priority groups, including the elderly and minors, to ensure more effective social assistance across the region.
