DIF Torreón holds conferences for World Mental Health Day

DIF Torreón, in coordination with the association ALSAME, held a series of conferences at Ciudad DIF to commemorate World Mental Health Day. The event aimed to provide information, reflection, and support for families in the Laguna region.

Psychiatrist Adalberto Mena Caldera addressed the importance of proper psychiatric medication, emphasizing that treatments must be adequate and supervised by specialists. The sessions also highlighted how mental illnesses impact the entire family unit, stressing the need for communication, understanding, and accompaniment to overcome social stigmas and misinformation.

During the event, Mario Antonio Lozano shared his personal experience as a stable patient, demonstrating that timely attention and support can enable a full life. Selina Bremer de Cepeda, honorary president of DIF Torreón, noted that collaborating with civil society organizations is essential to bringing prevention tools and mental health information to the citizenry.
