Different raises $48 million seed round for AI marketing platform

San Francisco-based startup Different has emerged from stealth mode following a $48 million seed funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company aims to automate end-to-end B2B demand generation using an AI-powered marketing system.

Founded by Ajeet Singh, Abhishek Pani, and Abhinav Yajurvedi, the platform is designed to allow lean marketing teams to manage complex campaign orchestration. The system handles planning, advertising, email, landing pages, and answer engine optimization. It utilizes a shared memory of a company’s strategy and brand to continuously adjust campaigns based on performance across various channels.

Early users, including Motif and Descope, reported significant efficiency gains. Descope reportedly used the platform to identify and redirect 60% of paid advertising spend that was previously lost to poor targeting. The company plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams.
