Digecac inaugurates Monument to the Ten Commandments

The General Directorate of Beautification of Circumferential Roads and Avenues (Digecac) has inaugurated the Monument to the Ten Commandments in Santo Domingo Este. Located at kilometer 14 of the Carretera Mella, facing the Los Prados de San Luis sector, the project aims to transform the visual landscape of a high-traffic area.

The new infrastructure replaces a site previously covered in weeds and debris with a landscaped space designed to serve as a local landmark. The monument is a physical representation of the biblical Decalogue, intended to reflect the principles and values of the Ten Commandments.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Digecac Director General Rodolfo Valera Grullón, Santo Domingo Este Mayor Dío Astacio, and San Luis Municipal District Mayor Wendy Cepeda. Officials noted that the project is part of a broader program to recover public spaces and improve the cleanliness and safety of the country’s main roads and avenues.
