Transit authorities in Dominican Republic and Venezuela implement new regulations

In the Dominican Republic, the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) is planning to implement a system of automated traffic fines (fotomultas) to modernize traffic management and strengthen enforcement. This initiative, which includes technological tools to check vehicle histories and inspection statuses, is part of a broader plan to modernize traffic lights and vehicle inspections. Additionally, Intrant is engaging in dialogues with Fenatrado to improve cargo transport efficiency and safety.

Simultaneously, the DIGESETT is celebrating its 29th anniversary with various commemorative activities across the country, including religious services and patriotic acts, while highlighting technological advancements like the upcoming use of drones for traffic monitoring.

In Venezuela, the National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT) has strictly prohibited the circulation of ATVs and quadricycles on highways, roads, and avenues. The ban is based on safety concerns, noting that these vehicles lack proper lighting, mirrors, and braking systems required for urban and interurban traffic. Authorities warned that violators will face administrative sanctions and vehicle impoundment.
